Kids Class Halloween Party 2019

Halloween 2018,

I decided to be something simple this year.  I got some felt from the 100yen shop and crafted myself into a pirate!!

This year the theme of the party was Fear Factor Restaurant!!!!    We played a few games and the loser had to try one of my delightfully nasty looking treats.   mmmmm   yum!!!

クレヨン・プリント・Tシャツ作り PART 2

AHHH…..

Took me way way way….. too long to upload part 2.   Anyways here it is, a whole half year late.

I’m happy to say that all the t-shirts turned out fantastic.  Even after going through the wash they still look great.

The kids started of by designing and putting down their design onto paper then to transfer a mirrored version of it onto sandpaper.

They then  placed the sandpaper on the t-shirt and set it with a hot iron.  DONE!!!   Easy as that.クレヨン・プリント・Tシャツ作りクレヨン・プリント・Tシャツ作り

クレヨン・プリント・Tシャツ作り PART 1

Last week to break away from our usual English class, I thought it would be good fun to try and make crayon print t-shirts with the students.  I gave them some homework to complete.  They needed to fill in the names of the items we would be using to make the t-shirts.   An iron, sandpaper, what I call wax paper but is apparently called parchment paper, guess the same thing as tin foil, anyways..  The kids did and excellent job at planning what they wanted there t-shirts to look like.     Next week we will transfer our designs to sand paper.   Stay tuned.

Restaurant role play

For the past few classes we have been practicing  ordering and taking orders at a restaurant.

My main goal of this lesson was to get the students to really get a grasp of and to use the phrase “can I….”  Seems like such an easy phrase to learn and say, but it is a real challenge to students to use it.  Memorizing the phrase is super easy but when it actually come to using the phrase it becomes a bit more difficult.  Hopefully incorporating it into a fun tasty activity will drill it in and help the students to use the phrase naturally and without thinking about it.

Kids Christmas 2017

Tried making snow globes with the students this year.   Discovered the key was not to put too much snow in the globe.  Unless you want a completely white snowstorm in your globe

Kids Class Halloween!!!

Another year is done!  And another great Halloween class filed with games and fright. Ahhhhh!!!!!

I was a bit worried that some of the younger kids would be too scared to come in to the class room but to my surprise, they were all fine with the blacked out scary dark classroom.  Just a year before some of the kids wouldn’t come in unless I turned on the lights.

They all had awesome costumes this year as well.  so cute!

Making candy dispensers in class!! Week 2

Continuing from the previous week, we got down to gluing and screwing the top cap that would hold the jar in place.  The kids had a choice of using either hot glue or screws.  Most of them chose the glue. We then aligned the hole and the candy puller part?? and  slapped everything together. Threw in some candy and we were ready to munch away one or two candies at a time.  There were a few improvements we could make in the future to improve on the dispenser but everything worked good enough.

Making candy dispensers in class!! Week 1

As me and the kids were looking around for a project to do in class, we stumbled across a simple candy dispenser design.

This is our story :

Week 1 started with gluing all the blocks together to build up the base of the dispenser.  Their “homework” for the next need would be to bring in a glass jar to hold the candies.DSC_0140_1-1080 DSC_0137-1080 DSC_0134_1-1080 DSC_0131_1-1080 DSC_0129-1080 DSC_0125_1-1080 DSC_0124_1-1080 DSC_0577-1080 Making a candy dispenser
